Work this easy Linen Square crochet washcloth pattern and make a collection in many colors and sizes
How many washcloths do you need? a ton right?
Have you tried making one using the linen stitch? It’s pretty cool – it gives this neat, tight texture that’s perfect for scrubbing.
Plus, it looks way fancier than those plain store-bought ones. The cool thing about cotton is it soaks up water like nobody’s business and feels so nice on your skin.

Let’s talk about how to care for crochet washcloths
Alright, so you’ve made these awesome handmade washcloths – now let’s talk about keeping them in tip-top shape.
It’s pretty simple. After you use them, give them a good rinse to get rid of any soap or gunk. Then, the key is to let them dry out completely between uses. You don’t want them sitting around damp – that’s just asking for mildew, and trust me, nobody wants a funky-smelling washcloth!
You can toss them in with your regular laundry when it comes to washing.
A normal wash cycle with warm water works great. If you want to be extra careful, you could use a mesh bag to keep them from getting tangled up with other stuff.
Oh, and skip the fabric softener – it can make the cotton less absorbent, which kind of defeats the purpose, you know?
How about drying?
Drying-wise, you’ve got options. The dryer works fine on low heat, but if you’re feeling old-school (or eco-friendly), hanging them out to dry in the sun is awesome. The sun’s UV rays even have a bit of a sanitizing effect – neat, huh?
If your washcloths start looking a bit dingy over time, don’t sweat it. A soak in some warm water with a splash of white vinegar can brighten them right up. It’s like a spa day for your washcloths!
Taking care of them like this means they’ll last ages.
It’s pretty cool to think about how many disposable wipes or sponges you’re not using. Makes you feel good, doesn’t it?
