Wow, there are so many awesome crochet designers out there! We can learn so much from them by trying their patterns and joining their communities.
Today we start with Erin Toews from Juniper & Oakes let’s get to know her and find 5 free patterns from her amazing designs!

Who is Erin?
I am so lucky to get to know Erin and her beautiful crochet designs and mosaic creations. I love her Nordic blanket it reminds me of our trip to Scandinavia! Here is what she tells us about her journey:
Erin in her own words
Erin Toews is the designer and “crazy yarn lady” behind Juniper & Oakes. She has barely been seen without her hook since her mom taught her to crochet when she was 8 years old. She loves to learn interesting stitches, then teaches them to her crochet community by hosting crochetalongs (CALs). She is most known for her overlay mosaic crochet CALs like the Nordic Star Blanket and the Mosaic Nordic Blanket.
She has many free crochet patterns on her ad-supported website, and ad-free patterns in Ravelry & Etsy.
Not only does she have some fun patterns with interesting stitches, she publishes stitch tutorial videos and other yarn-related content on her YouTube channel.
Mixing her love of yarn & doing crafts with her children, Erin published a crochet-themed coloring book which you can buy on Amazon. The coloring book has cute illustrations and fun yarny sayings.
Besides crocheting, Erin loves to travel, hike, sip coffee with friends, watch Gilmore Girls, Pride & Prejudice, & Outlander, and go on adventures with her husband and 3 kids. She is also known to buy lots of plants and try to keep them alive –but after hosting the Plants with Yarn CAL, she finally has some plants she can never kill (no one tell her it’s a blanket made out of yarn!)
