I am Sandra, also known as Sandra Stitches. For many years I worked in HR and mental health rehabilitation. Today I am a crochet designer.

Here is something true about me. Every time I stood at a big crossroads in my life, I came back to crochet. My mom taught me when I was seven or eight. In the army, it was doilies between shifts. Then marriage, children, a career, and crochet went quiet in the background. But it was always there, waiting for the next crossroads.

COVID was the biggest one. I was sent home from a job I loved, working with people with severe mental health struggles. I had a hard decision to make, and I made it. I quit. Then I brought out my yarn and my hook, sat down in front of YouTube, and found a whole world I never knew existed.

I am sixty four now. I never once thought of myself as a creative person. But I watched crochet calm women who were struggling far more than I ever have. And somewhere along the way, I realized the same thing was happening to me.

That is why I design what I design. Not complicated, not intricate for its own sake. Just something achievable, something calm, something you can start without knowing exactly where it will end.

I live in beautiful Haifa, Israel. Mom of three amazing ladies, and grandma to my little man and beautiful lady

No matter your age, skill level, or size, I want you to find a project here that fits you. I know how it feels when the top does not fit, or the pattern gets too complicated, and you lose your way and put your work aside. My patterns are made so that does not happen. If your finished piece is for gifting, donating, or selling, that is all fine with me. This is not really about me. It is about you.
