This Summer Crochet Shawl Wrap Susana is inspired by remembering my Grandmother who was a Turkish immigrant to Buenos Aires Argentina in the 1900s.
The colors and the feel of the shawl remind me of the oranges she used to peel for me in the evenings I stayed at her house when I was a child..
We used to sit on the patio, eat oranges, and chat with the ladies….
That memory is still so vivid in my mind even after more than 50 years 🙂

Notes
- This pattern is written in US terminology
- This Pattern is beginner-friendly, it uses only basic stitches, of course, you have to be familiar with single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch, if you are not please visit any YouTube channel tutorial before starting this project.
- Ch 3 at the beginning of the row does count as st
- This pattern uses repeats of 17 ch +1, so you calculate how wide you prefer your shawl to be and sum a multiple of 17 ch +1
- You can make a scarf, a shawl or a blanket using the same pattern
- Additional Notes:
- I made a shawl using 4 multiples of 17X4= 68 st + 1
Instructions
Chain: 68 +1
Row 1: Sc 1 in the second ch from hook and sc 1 in each st across to the last ch. , turn (68)
Now the main repeat pattern
Be patient it is very simple and takes a little focus
Row 2: Ch3, dc 4 in same 1st st for a total of 5 dc (including ch 3), *{(sk 1st + dc 1) in next 7 st, sk 1 st and dc 5 in next st, dc 5 in next st}* repeat to the end of the row.
You should end the row with 1 set of 5 dc in the last st, ch1, and turn
Row 3 : Flosc 1 in 1st st from hook and across to end of row, turn(68)
Row 4: Repeat Row 2
Row 5: repeat Row 3
Continue to desire length
I made 59 sets of Row 2+Row 3
