Who is Becky from Measured and Stitched?
Slowing down and embracing simplicity!
I am so excited to showcase her on our page. Her work isso comforting!
Becky in her own words
I’m a country girl at heart, and the older I get, the more I crave a slower pace of life. As a former math teacher and current bookkeeper, I spend my days in an analytical world, so I love using my creative brain as an outlet. In addition to crocheting, I enjoy gardening, canning, cooking from scratch, and spending time with animals. Life gets busy, but I’m learning to make time for the things that soothe my soul.
I learned to crochet as a little girl, and it’s a craft I’ve carried with me throughout my life. Crochet is my favorite way to relax and challenge myself. When I need mental engagement, I dive into new stitches or techniques. But on tough days, I reach for a simple project with an easy repeat, letting my thoughts unwind as I stitch. It’s the perfect way to find calm amidst life’s hustle.
My designs are inspired by my love for a traditional, country home. I gravitate toward earthy tones and create pieces that balance colors and stitches to bring beauty and function to everyday life. My goal is to design items that allow others to experience the relaxing benefits of crochet while adding practicality and warmth to their homes.
I believe in the power of slowing down and embracing simplicity, and I hope to inspire others to live intentionally through handmade creations.
