A crochet mandala wall hanging for Halloween is an easy way to fill blank spaces with color and texture.

By simply adding a wooden dowel or embroidery hoop, you can transform your finished mandala into a striking piece of wall art.

It’s lightweight, easy to hang, and can be customized with tassels, beads, or fringe to suit your personal spooky-season style

Let’s get to the pattern, shall we? Making A Crochet Halloween Decor

Materials:

  • 100% Acrylic yarn, 100g, weight #4 (approx. 45g total) in 4 colors inspired by Halloween candy: Yellow, White, Orange, and Burgundy
  • Optional: Use cotton yarn to turn your mandala into a placemat
  • Hook: US Size 4.5 mm (G+)
  • Yarn needle, scissors, measuring tape

Size:

Finished sample measures approx. 12” wide

Stitch Key:

  • Ch = Chain
  • St = Stitch
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • Slst = Slip Stitch

Specialty Stitches:

  • V Stitch: (Dc 1 + Ch 1 + Dc 1) in the designated stitch

Notes:

  • Pattern written in US terms
  • Worked in rounds
  • Ch 2 at the start of a round counts as a stitch
  • Ch 1 at the start of a round does not count as a stitch
  • Uses repeating stitch patterns

Instructions

With Yellow:
Round 1: Ch 4, slst to first ch to form a circle (or use magic ring). Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc), dc 10 into ring (11 dc total). Slst to first st to join. (11 sts)

Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc + ch 1), *dc in next st, ch 1; repeat from * around. Slst to first st. (11 dc + 11 ch-1 spaces)

Round 3: Slst into next ch-1 space, V st in space, ch 1, V st in next space; repeat around. Slst to first st. (11 V sts + 11 ch-1 spaces)

Change to Orange.
Round 4: Start in ch-1 space of V st, V st, ch 1, V st in next V st’s ch space; repeat around. Slst to join. (11 V sts + 11 ch-1 spaces)

Round 5: Slst to next ch-1 space in V st, V st, *V st between next two V sts, V st in next ch-1 space of V st; repeat from * around. Slst to join. (22 V sts)

Change to White.
Round 6: In ch-1 space of V st, dc 3, dc 3 in next ch space; repeat around. Slst to join. (22 clusters of 3 dc)

Round 7: Slst to 2nd dc of cluster, V st, ch 1, *skip 2 dc, V st in middle dc of next cluster, ch 1; repeat around. Slst to join.

Change back to Orange.
Round 8: In ch-1 space of V st, dc 3, *ch 1, dc 3 in next ch-1 space; repeat around. Slst to join.

Change to Burgundy.
Round 9: In ch-1 space, sc, *ch 3, skip 1 st, sc in next dc, ch 3, skip 1 dc, sc in next ch-1 space; repeat around. Slst to join. (44 ch spaces, 44 sc)

Round 10: Slst to ch-3 space, dc 5, *sc in next ch-3 space, dc 5 in next ch space; repeat around. Slst to join.
