Okay, can we just talk about this orange for a second? It’s basically a vacation in a shirt. I’m so excited to finally share the Valencia Top with you guys!
I wanted something that felt like a Mediterranean sunset and totally chill, a little bit boho, and really easy to wear.
Something you can throw over jeans for a coffee run or wear to the beach, it just adds that perfect “I made this” vibe to any outfit.
And the best part? The pattern is totally free right here!

The Ultimate “Not-Too-Hot” Summer Crochet
I get asked all the time if crochet is actually wearable when it’s hot out, and honestly, the Valencia Top is my go-to proof that it is.
I used this open shell stitch so the air actually hits your skin.
We know that no one wants to be a sweaty mess in handmade clothes!
It’s super lightweight and works more like a breezy vest than a heavy top. If you know how to double crochet, you’re going to fly through this project. It’s a quick win for your summer and winter wardrobe, I promise.

How I’m Styling It
A few of you asked what to wear under something this “holey”—I’ve been loving it over a simple grey crop top or even a bodysuit to let the orange really stand out.
It’s also the cutest swimsuit cover-up if you’re heading to the pool. But, you can also wear it over a long-sleeve T-shirt in the winter for extra coziness
Since the stitches are so bold, I usually keep the rest of the look pretty simple and let the top do all the heavy lifting.
I’m dying to see what colors you guys pick. Please tag me when you start yours!
