The Rust Scarf crochet pattern is all about cozy texture and simple stitches coming together beautifully. The popcorn stitch adds that little pop of personality, and the warm rust shade makes it feel like autumn wrapped around your shoulders. It’s an easy, satisfying make that is perfect for gifting or keeping all to yourself when the weather cools down
The pattern is part of our 2025 From Us to You Crochet Donation Challenge and was specially designed to celebrate November’s Fall season

Popcorn Stitch Crochet is Adding Texture and Personality
I’ve always loved how the popcorn stitch adds that little “something extra” to a project. It’s bouncy, fun, and gives your scarf that cozy, touch-me texture that plain stitches just can’t match.
The way those little clusters pop off the fabric makes any piece feel more alive and full of character. And once you get into the rhythm, it’s pure crochet joy!

Let’s get to the pattern, shall we? Making the Rust Scarf
Difficulty
Intermediate
Materials
- 100% Acrylic, 100gr (1.5 skeins), weight #4 yarn, approx 220 yards in pumpkin color and some in beige (3 rows)
- Hook: 5 mm
- Yarn Needle, Scissors, Measuring Tape
Gauge for my sample using the yarn I had
- 12 st X 8 rows ( 4” X 4”) pattern repeat
Sizes
This sample is 6.5” wide by 36” long ( infinity scarf)
Stitch Key
- Ch = Chain
- St = Stitch
- Dc = Double Crochet
- Yo = Yarn Over
- Pc = Popcorn st

Specialty Stitches
Popcorn Stitch = PC
Work 5 double crochet (dc) stitches into the same stitch. Drop the working loop from your hook. Reinsert your hook into the top of the first double crochet. Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the first double crochet. Gently tighten the stitch to create the rounded popcorn shape.
