I’m excited to share our Winter Whirlwind Blanket Wrap CAL with you – it’s a project that’s close to my heart and perfect for brightening up those chilly winter days. As someone who’s crocheted for years, I can tell you this pattern is something special.
Hey crochet friends! š
This is super exciting! A new free crochet along for October 2024
This pattern was featured in the December 2023 ILCrochet magazine
You’ll dive into some really fun techniques here.
Let’s talk about the techniques in this blanket wrap
Ever tried tapestry crochet? It’s a game-changer for creating beautiful patterns. And those mock cables? They look intricate but are surprisingly manageable. I particularly love the granny spikes and little puffs – they add such a delightful texture.
One thing I appreciate about this shawl is its flexibility. You can easily make it larger by adding repeats, or focus on your favorite stitch patterns. It’s all about making it yours.
For the sample, I played with five different colors, which I think gives it a festive pop.
But don’t feel bound by that – choose colors that speak to you. I’ve seen some stunning versions in monochrome and others in bold, contrasting hues.
This shawl isn’t just a project; it’s a learning experience that results in a beautiful, wearable piece. Whether you’re treating yourself or making a heartfelt gift, I think you’ll find it both challenging and rewarding.
