Today I will show you a variation of the crochet V stitch used for a washcloth.
Now washcloths have become my obsession and I use them regularly, especially since my grandson was born.
Now that he is 5 years old I still wash is hair using my V stitch washcloth so soap does not enter his amazing blue eyes!

Let’s get to the pattern, shall we? Making a Crochet V stitch Washcloth
Difficulty
Materials
Drops Paris 100% cotton, 50 gr, 75 m, 82 yards, color pink, 2 skeins ( I used double strands in two shades of pink) so a total of two skeins
Subs can be: any weight #5 or #6 yarn
Hook: US Size (7 mm)
- Yarn Needle, Scissors, Measuring Tape
Gauge
12 st X 6rows ( 4” X 4” of pattern repeat)
Sizes
- This sample is 8.5” X 8.5”
Stitch Key
- Ch = Chain
- Sc = Single Crochet
- St = Stitch
- Dc = Double Crochet
Specialty Stitches
V stitch: (dc, ch 1, dc) all in indicated st
Notes
- This pattern is worked in rows.
- Ch 2 at the beginning of the round does count as a stitch
- I used two strands for this pattern for a more sturdy fabric
Instructions
Chain 25+1
Row 1:Sc 1 in 2nd ch from hook, sc 1 in next and across to the end of the row, turn (25)
Row 2: Ch2 (counts as 1st st here and always), dc 1 in next st, skip 1st, Vst in next, *[skip 2 st, V st in next]* repeat from *to* to last 3 st, skip 1 st, dc 1 in next 2 st, turn (25)
Row 3: Ch 2, dc 1 in next st, dc 3 in next ch1 space from prev Vst, dc 3 in next ch 1 space and across to last ch 1 space, dc 1 in next st, dc 1 in last st.(25)
Row 4::Repeat row 2 (25)
Row 5: Repeat row 3 (25)
Continue working every two rows alternating between row 2 and row 3 up to row 12
Row 13: Ch1, sc 1 in 1st st from hook, sc 1 in next and across to end of row. (25)
Finishing
Cut your yarn and weave in the ends.
