What size should a rug mug be?
A mug rug, typically a small, decorative mat for placing under a coffee mug, is usually about 4×6 to 5×8 inches in size.
This size is perfect for accommodating both the mug and a small snack, providing enough space to protect your table surface from spills and heat.
Adjustments can be made based on personal preference or the intended use, but these dimensions are a good starting point for most mug rugs

How to care for your crochet dishcloths?
A coaster and a mug rug serve similar purposes but differ in size and function.
A coaster is a small, round or square piece, typically about 3.5 to 4 inches in diameter, designed to hold a single drink and protect surfaces from moisture and heat.
In contrast, a mug rug is slightly larger, usually around 4×6 to 5×8 inches, offering more space not only for a mug but also for a small snack.
Coasters are compact and perfect for drinks alone, mug rugs add a cozy, decorative touch with added functionality.

What size should a placemat be?
A crochet placemat is typically designed to accommodate a standard place setting, with dimensions ranging from 12×18 to 14×20 inches.
This size provides enough space for a dinner plate, cutlery, and a drinking glass, ensuring your table setting looks neat and organized while protecting the table surface from spills and heat.
Adjust the size based on your table dimensions and personal preferences for the best fit.
