About using two strands of yarn
When you want to amp up the drama in your crochet project, double stranding is your secret weapon!
By holding two strands of yarn together while you work, you instantly create a thicker, more luxurious fabric that’s perfect for cozy winter projects like chunky blankets, oversized sweaters, or ultra-warm hats.
This technique not only gives you incredible warmth and volume but also lets you play with texture and color in exciting ways – imagine combining a solid strand with a variegated one, or mixing two completely different yarn weights for a totally unique look.
Pro tip: double stranding is also a fantastic way to use up those random leftover yarn skeins in your stash, helping you create something beautiful while reducing waste.
