It is a great pattern for beginners as well as whoever wants to use yarn scraps and two strands.
You can choose any color combination and the size of the case.

What can you use the All-purpose crochet case for?
A pencil case for school or work. This is a great way to keep your pens, pencils, and other school supplies organized. You can even use some fun colors to make it your own.
Or Maybe to store your makeup brushes and cosmetics. This is a great way to keep your makeup organized and prevent it from getting messy. You can even add some removable inserts to customize the case to your needs.

Let’s get to the Pattern, shall we?
Difficulty

Materials
- Cygnet Yarn, Aran, 100% Acrylic, Using two strands held together
- Hook: 8 mm
- Yarn Needle, Scissors, Measuring Tape
Sizes
- One size – measure depends on your yarn choice. This sample is 6.5” X 5.5” closure folded
Stitch Key
- Ch = Chain
- Hdc = Half Double Crochet
- Sl St = Slip Stitch
- Yo = Yarn Over
Specialty Stitch & Technique Key
BlHdc = Yarn over, Insert crochet hook into the back loop only ,Pull up a loop, Yarn over, Pull through the 3 loops on the crochet hook
Notes
- This pattern is worked in rows.
- Ch1 does not count as 1st st
- The 1st and last stitches will always be regular Hdc
- I used two strands of Aran Weight #4 yarn to make a thick fabric, You can choose any kind of bulky/chunky yarn
- This pattern uses the 3rd loop of a stitch

Instructions
Chain 26
Row1: Hdc1 in 2nd Ch from hook, Hdc in next, Hdc in next, and across to end of row, finish with Hdc in last Ch, Ch1 and turn work.
Row 2: Hdc1 in 1st Ch from hook, BlHdc in next, BlHdc in next, and across to end of row, finish with Hdc in last Ch, Ch1 and turn work.
Now Row 3: Hdc1 in 1st Ch from hook, Hdc in 3rd loop of next st, and across to end of row, finish with Hdc in last Ch, Ch1 and turn work.
Row 4-20: repeat rows 2+3
Here we work a bit differently Rows 21-25: Repeat rows 2+3 on only 12 stitches to form the closing part,
Row 26: At the last row on the 6th st, Ch 8 and Slst to the same stitch to form the button strap, continue row to end.
Secure yarn, cut, and weave in ends.
Finishing
Lay your project right side out. Fold to have a rectangle, Join with Sc1 on each st on two sides of the case.
Weave in the ends and cut yarn. You can add a button for more convenience.
