These are 3 Crochet Blankets You Want to Make. If you love crochet blankets or want to find a new project, you’ve come to the right place.
Today, I want to share three of my favorite crochet blankets along with a fourth that’s still in progress—and I’m debating whether to finish it or frog it.
These blankets come from my own designs, and all the patterns are free here
Each has a different yarn type, size, and stitch pattern, so there’s something for every skill level or project mood.
Here’s a quick look at the blankets we’ll explore:
- Harvest Blanket: Baby-sized, calming color palette, acrylic yarn with a unique stitch pattern
- Happy Cuddles Blanket: Soft double-strand baby yarn, stroller size, playful stitch blocks
- Marshmallow Blanket: Striped marshmallow stitch, stroller size, tells a personal story
- Sampler Stitch Blanket: Large blanket with five different stitches, still undecided if I’ll finish
I hope you’ll find inspiration here for your next crochet blanket pattern.
Harvest Blanket: Warm Colors and Simple Repetition
The Harvest Blanket was finished about 2–3 years ago for a blog hop, but it still feels fresh. It’s a baby-sized blanket, made with acrylic yarn that is a 4-weight. I used a 6 to 6.5 mm hook, which helped the project grow quickly.
The stitch pattern is unique and enjoyable, though the repetitive rows might seem boring at first. Still, the rhythm of making it row after row made it a relaxing project when I didn’t want to think too much.
I’m planning to gift this blanket to my daughter, who is expecting a baby girl soon. The color combination suits her vibe perfectly: a soft beige wheat tone mixed with cream and a lovely sage green. The soothing tones make it a warm, natural-looking blanket that works well for a newborn.
If you’d like to make this yourself, you can find the free pattern for the Harvest Blanket on my blog: Harvest Blanket free pattern.
Key Points
- Yarn: Acrylic 4-weight
- Hook size: 6 mm to 6.5 mm
- Size: Baby blanket
- Color palette: Beige wheat, cream, sage green
- Purpose: Designed for a blog hop, now a cherished family gift

Happy Cuddles Blanket: Soft Baby Yarn and Two Stitches
Next up is the Happy Cuddles Blanket, which is stroller-size by default but easy to adjust if you want larger dimensions. The pattern explains how to increase size by following stitch multiples.
For yarn, I worked with two strands of a baby blue DK weight yarn from Alise, a Turkish brand. It’s a super soft baby yarn that’s ideal for little ones. You can use other baby-friendly yarns, even weight 4 or 5, but I recommend doing a gauge swatch first to get the right multiples.
The stitch pattern combines two different blocks that flow well together, creating texture without too much complexity. I designed this blanket for Helen from Sunflower Cottage Crochet’s annual baby blog hop event. Having a deadline for that helped me get it done since I sometimes need that push to start or finish a project.
The beauty of this blanket is in its softness and flexibility. You can make it bigger or smaller, whatever suits your needs.

In brief:
- Yarn: Double strand baby blue DK weight (Alise baby yarn or alternatives)
- Size: Stroller, customizable by stitch multiples
- Stitch pattern: Two complementary stitch blocks worked in repetition
- Inspiration: Designed for Helen’s baby blog hop event

Marshmallow Blanket: Stripes with Heart
The Marshmallow Blanket holds a very special place for me. I started it on October 7th, 2023, a day that marked difficult events in Israel. I was anxious and needed to focus on something that kept my mind busy but not overwhelmed. So I began crocheting stripes with the marshmallow stitch, a textured, slightly raised stitch pattern, adding a mesh join between each stripe.
The yarn is Signet Chunky in three colors: bisque (a soft peachy-beige), cream, and chocolate brown. Although labeled “chunky,” this yarn is closer to a weight 4 yarn, and I used a 5 to 6 mm hook.
At first, the blanket was put aside after a month, but I returned to finish it for a friend’s baby shower blog hop. It ended up as stroller size, but you can easily change the length or width by adjusting the number of stitches or stripes.
This blanket is also free on my blog: Marshmallow Blanket free pattern.
Highlights
- Yarn: Signet Chunky (weight 4-ish) in bisque, cream, and chocolate brown
- Hook: 5 or 6 mm
- Stitch: Marshmallow stitch stripes with mesh joining
- Size: Stroller size, customizable
- Background: Begun during a time of personal stress as a form of mental relief
Crocheting this blanket helped me calm down and focus through a tough period. The marshmallow stitch gave just enough challenge to engage my brain.

Sampler Stitch Blanket: To Finish or Frog?
The fourth project I’m working on is a large sampler stitch blanket using five stitches that I have tutorials for on my channel: star stitch, cross stitch, sage stitch, and two others. I’m using colors I love, but I’m not sure if I want to keep going or frog it.
Right now, the blanket is fairly big, featuring five different stitch patterns in stripes. It’s the type of project for slow progress, maybe during Netflix evenings.
The colors and combination are pretty, but I worry about adding to the many sampler stitch blankets out there. I’m thinking about stopping after a couple more stripes and calling it done.
I’d love to hear your thoughts: Should I frog it or finish it? What do you do when you start a big sampler project and get stuck? Share your opinions in the comments.
