Hi, I’m Caitie, owner, designer, and maker behind Thoresby Cottage. I live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa, where most of my designing happens with a view of the mountain and a warm cup of tea in hand.
Thoresby Cottage is my creative home, where I share thoughtfully crafted crochet patterns, tutorials, reviews, and tips for makers of all skill levels. Whether you’re just picking up a hook for the first time or you’ve been crocheting for years, you’ll find resources designed to be clear, inspiring, and accessible.
I draw much of my inspiration from the world around me, so you’ll see nature-inspired color palettes, eco-conscious designs, whimsical amigurumi, and plenty of cozy granny squares. I believe that creativity lives in all of us; sometimes, it just needs a little encouragement to bloom. My goal is to help crocheters feel confident, joyful, and connected through the art of handmade. I love blending technical precision with playful design, and I’m passionate about creating patterns that feel both beautiful and achievable.
Thoresby Cottage is a celebration of slow crafting, community, and the magic of making something with your own two hands. It’s a space where creativity meets comfort—and where every stitch tells a story.
